Our nation needs to put our republic back on track and stop making democracy a false god used for partisan purposes. We have one God, and we pray for his blessings on our republic.
The American project is not wholly abstract, but it is unique in its attempt to build civil relations on a primarily doctrinal, and not ethnic, foundation. Our first principles of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” should be the firm foundation of Civil Rights; they are the still point upon which the whole discussion must turn.
Is it possible to be a Republican or anywhere on the political right in corporate America? The answer is increasingly, “no.”
Of course, Congress could always preempt all the local legislation by enacting something like Roe into law, but that only raises the prospect of federal abortion statutes swinging back and forth every time Congress changes hands.

I challenge each of you reading this, go out and serve those around you, but never for your own glory. We are here for one purpose and that is to bring glory to God our Father.

As a Ukrainian-born American, the past few months leave me inevitably thinking about the courage of those who are living in Ukraine. In the last 90 days, thousands of Ukrainian soldiers have laid down their lives in defense of freedom. They died fighting a tyrannical government that is threatening to steal a basic, God-given, human right.
The outrage expressed by many in the media over the archbishop’s decision demonstrates once again how disconnected most Americans are from basic Christian teachings on ecclesial authority.
