Whether we fully understand it or not, our fathers impact the way we see God. And God intended for our fathers to demonstrate His love, as Matthew 7:9-11 indicates.
We can only pray — along with our Nigerian brothers and sisters — that David Curry’s appeal to the White House is clearly heard and quickly granted.
But of all the presents I’ve received from them, the most meaningful has been a report card. Not their report card – a “Dad’s Report Card” providing me with honest feedback on how I’m doing as their father.
Dads do this every day by supporting their kids (sometimes financially but always emotionally) through the ups and downs of new ventures. In fact, the best way a father can help his children succeed is often by helping them fail.
He is to be the representation of a permanent and loving presence in the home, beginning with demonstrating a sacrificial love for his wife. Unconditional love is to be extended to all, caring for and investing in each child individually.
Growing up in my dad’s house, I knew what he required of me but never knew what my father experienced. I learned the responsibility of fatherhood from my father, but I have discovered the joy of fathering on my own.
The decadence and depravity we are seeing in America today is astounding and overwhelming. Are we too far gone? Have we reached the point of no return? Is there any hope? With God, there is always hope, but it will involve focused prayer, intentional fasting, and genuine perseverance — “But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded” (2 Chronicles 15:7).
If we will consistently choose to yield to God and follow His lead, I’m confident it will change the trajectory of our nation.

Concern yourself with the mission of Christ above all. When necessary, engage in lower-tier conversation — but always bear in mind the end goal: showing the love of Christ and his saving power. If anything, know nothing but Christ, and him crucified. That he is enough.
